Wait, I thought is was spring.... winter.... no spring.....

Well what a surprise this morning ( well not really since the weather man said it would happen). I decided to have a little garden at our house this year, as there are plenty of planters avaliable to use. So I planted my tomatoes and peppers, onions and herbs and even some strawberries, just imaging how good everything will be good after it all fruits and ripens. However I believe either mother nature is trying to help or just doesn't like the idea.

Just ignore the time stamp. Obviously I haven't tried to change the date.

So in (hopefully not) a vain attempt to save my garden I've covered it. We will see. Oh the joy of living in Logan in the spring.

So the next question of the morning is about the lawn. If the snow wont kill my vegetable garden will it kill grass seed? Over the winter the accumulation of Howser going potty on our front lawn ruffly in the same 3 by 4 feet of area has taken it's toll. We are trying to reseed the area but we only put seed down last Saturday. Maybe the snow will act as a slow release moisture with out causing the seed to go dormant? Maybe?

Well we will just have to see what happens.

I think that I truly have one of the sweetest husbands in the world. But I am biased. The other evening I was in a bad mood and didn't feel good. Life just stunk at the moment. So Jared being the sweet husband that he is left me a surprise on our kitchen table before he left for work. See:

I really am lucky :)

The mix of branches with the daffodil is the flowering ornamental Cherry that grows in our front yard and some of the blooming plum branches that were pruned off the tree. It really brightened up my day.

What to do when your husband turns 26 and you want to have a suprise party

Well. It is the end of Spring Break and the funnest thing I've done so far is not go to class and take Howers to the Dog park. Howser loves the dog park even more than I do. I love it for the pure fact that I can unleash Howser and let him run, wrestle and find something dirty (and sometimes :( smelly ) to roll in. Howser loves it because it is bigger than our 16 by 16 foot kitchen and he gets to be outside unleashed with others to wrestle with. There is usually a good assortment of dogs that come. Every size between 6 month old Great Dane pups to a Mini Poodle (yes the little ones come but not necessarily of their own free will and stay on top of the picnic tables - hungry anyone?) If Howser can find someone to wrestle and play keep away with his day is made.

Wednesday was our last day of Obedience class for Beginners. Howser pass with flying colors with a "needs help" in the "leave it" area. As a reward I bought his a pair of squeaker Hedge hogs - really I would have bought only one but it came in a 2 pack and it was graduation......... The trainer had made the comment through out the last 8 weeks that he is amazed at how mellow and quiet Howser is. Every time he said that, the many times of Howser "talking" back to me and letting me know that he doesn't agree fly through my head. For prime example, I was eating leftovers of Indian Oven Chicken Coconut Kurma and Howser nuzzled his head into my lap with a look in his eyes of "I'll take one for the team and finish it for you :)". I pushed his head out of my lap and told him that he wasn't getting any. He took a few steps back and boy did he let me know that he did not agree with that statement. Barroowooh, Barrowooowoowooh, Barroow, Baroowooh, ending with a Barroowooh through a closed mouth resulting in his lips puffing out. We don't have kids and I have to deal with being talked back to. Oh well, guess it gives me practice for whenever we decide to have kids. I have to admit that our life is rather great. We truly are blessed.

TOP SECRET IF YOU ARE JARED YOU CANT READ BELOW THE LINE
well actually you can read this after Sunday.

Sunday is Jared's birthday - the big 26. He made the comment tonight that when people ask how old he is, he has to stop and figure it out. He has such a baby face that even when he is 95 people will probably think that he is in his late 70's. For his birthday I wanted to do something big and fun. So on Saturday I've planned a surprised b-day party. We are having a murder mystery dinner party and having 3 other couples (close friends that are local - sorry shelley) come to celebrate. Jared doesn't know about the dinner party. I've told him that I want to make him big all out dinner for his birthday on Saturday and have somewhatly planned the dinner menu with him. The original plan was for me to send him to the grocery store to get some Ranch salad dressing. But life doesn't go that way when I plan it. For example: We went grocery shopping last night to get the last minute things needed for the meal Saturday and general grocery needs. And guess what the one thing that Jared insisted and made sure that we bought? Ranch Salad dressing. Oh well, I ended up buying Taco seasoning by honest mistake that will kill me, so I guess I have a back up plan. Anyway the plan now is to send Jared to the grocery store to exchange the Taco seasoning for something that wont kill me and get back in time for dinner. While Jared is out all of our guest will arrive and thus the surprise :) I hope it goes well.

I got Jared a birthday gift of Kill Dr Lucky. I bought it online and had it shipped to my work. I told Jared about it and the 1st question out of his mouth was "which account did the money come out of?" He asked this as to figure out where I got the gift and what it was. I don't lie intentionally on a regular basis but I will admit I openly and blatantly lied to my husband. I smiled and told him that I paid one of the girls at work to buy it through their bank and paid them back. The money came out of the Piano Checking account but I couldn't tell him that and spoil the surprise now could I? I will have to update and put pictures of how things went.

Jared has started to work his new permanent shift of midnight to 8 am. Yuck! Well sort of yuck. He was working 4pm to 11pm before. Really Yuck! I miss sleeping at the same time with my husband and having him hold me while I fall asleep but in all reality I do get to see him more. Call me a hopeless romantic but I love it when my husband holds me and we cuddle :)

I just lied again....... I promise this isn't becoming a habit! Jared just asked me while writing this what I was doing and (don't think me horrible) told him that I was writing an e-mail to my amazing, and I mean AMAZING, friend Shelley Gee. Thanks for being my cover Shelley! I told him that Shelley had e-mailed me and wanted an update of what is going on in our lives. Technically it wasn't a complete lie as I know that Shelley will be reading this and it is an update I just fudged about how the information is getting to her :)
Well, I will have to continue this after the party as we are at a friends house playing games and the game Jared and our friend Wayne is playing is almost over.
